[5.25/10] The A-Team (2010)

The A-Team (2010)

Short review: "The A-Team" might be shallow, loud and hackneyed, and more than a little misogynist and freighted down with ridiculous sub-plots, but it at least cracks jokes. Its characters, over-familiar and goofy, are interesting if not compelling, and the story moves and changes according to their choices like a story should. Sharlto Copley comes up from behind to give the film's best performance as the crazy Murdock, but he's in good company with Liam Neeson and Bradley Cooper, who do exactly what they're asked to do. Jessice Biel is gorgeous to look at, yet her acting is dreadful. All through "The A-team" the action sequences are innovative, but often over-the-top and exaggerated to a degree that becomes annoying even for the most forgiving spectator. Also the CGI effects in the grand finale is probably the worst I've seen in a high budget movie in the past few years. The film never takes itself seriously at all, which is a good thing, but there are just too many set pieces in the movie, and they become a little maundering after a while. "The A-Team" is super-exaggerated, brainless action flick, that suffers from overdirection, messy pacing and bad editing, and it's only mildly entertaining.

  • My Rating: 5.25/10
