[6.50/10] Tomboy (2011)

Tomboy (2011)

QuickRating: It deals with an extremely delicate subject matter in a very modest and tender way, it's also thoroughly believable and amazingly well-acted, and it's sweet and charming in a French sort of way, but it's the rather conventional execution and lack of impressive production values that stop it from being incredible, plus, "Tomboy" is way too brief to provide sufficient development of the specific topic.

I really want to see this. I love the idea of a girl convincing her new friends she's a boy. Very progressive and about time.

Mel, I was super-excited about it too, and though I liked it a lot, I didn't find it that special. Not sure about her friends, but she definitely convinced ME she's a boy. :)

It's so refreshing to experience the joys of being human. Everyone in this film was beautiful in their own way. Thank you for the pleasant trip back to innocence, and a feeling good about what we are. You have handed them to us on a silver platter.
