[7.50/10] Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close (2011)

Extremely Loud &
Incredibly Close (2011)

QuickRating: As quirky as its title suggests, "EL & IC" is overly sentimental, slightly pretentious and emotionally manipulative, therefore, it may not be everyone's cup of tea, but those with an open mind will find this strangely whimsical modern-day adventure very touching, emotional and entertaining. The fantastic cast elevates the movie to another level and Daldry's moody, yet energetic direction adds to the experience.

Just don't think this is one I would enjoy.

I have to agree with you that this movie was very emotional and entertaining. The cast was indeed fantastic, especially Max VonSydow. I had not thought of it as a 'strangely whimsical modern-day adventure' but that is certainly a nice was to categorize it.

farawayeyes, glad you agree with me on this one. I really don't get all the hate for this film. It was different and it had an impact on me.
I hope you liked that summation of mine. :)

Not the least bit interested in this one. Sounds like a Hallmark Channel film to me. You make a good case, but I'll pass. ;)

Mel, it's your choice, but this time (like with Hugo) I think it's a bad one. :P
