QuickRating: It's messily narrated, convoluted and it lacks cohesion, which makes it a bit difficult to watch especially during the first hour or so, but the film's pseudo historical plot is still intriguing and somewhat clever, and it manages to hold your attention on the muddled mystery, plus, "Anonymous" boasts some truly stunning period settings and an exquisitely lavish costumes that make it one of the most visually striking movies of 2011.

Been DYING to see this. It really is intriguing.
Jess, it's far from great and not completely believable, however, I can't deny its originality. :)
It was supposed to be a big Oscar contender but fell really short of the mark.
Alex, I doubt that Emmerich had such intentions, because his films are 'mostly fun', but it could have been a serious Oscar contender if it was made by someone more profound.
I have wanted to see this for awhile (never played the island). Netflix again!
farawayeyes, I didn't manage to catch it in theaters either, which I regret, because its stunning visuals deserve to be seen on the big screen.
