Rock of Ages (2012)
QuickRating: An occasionally funny musical about fame, love and rock music, strictly for for die-hard rock fans, "Rock of Ages" is cheesy, loud and overcrowded, but still watchable and somewhat enjoyable most of the time, plus, you can't help but notice that the actors involved, mainly Tom Cruise in particular, are having the time of their lives with the challenging roles they've been cast for, and while their singing is unimpressive, the staging is pretty spot-on.

Hadn't watched this one yet due to lackluster reviews, although I would know all of the music.
Alex, as a rock music fan, you'd better give it a try. It didn't really "rock", but it was watchable to say the least.
Being an 80's kid, I of course, loved the music. Some of the performances were good, though the stage play is waaaay better.
Well, it's time for me to confess that I'm not a rock person at all. (Sorry, Alex). This genre just doesn't click with me, and neither did the movie. :)
I saw the trailer for this on the DARK SHADOWS dvd and it looked interesting, although I couldn't tell if it was supposed to be a comedy or an unintentional one. I love the music, so possibly the movie will be entertaining. Have you seen ROCK STAR, George? The Mark Wahlberg movie.
venoms5, no I haven't and don't think I ever will, for the fact that I'm not a rock music person at all.
As for the movie, it was watchable, and I enjoyed Cruise's performance, but it wasn't that special.. it was more like an unintentional comedy, like you said above.
