Quick Review: With a classic, old- school narrative of murder mystery that matches the slickly retro looks beautifully, Branagh's slick rendition starts off in a playful and amusing manner that makes it a fun ride, but as soon as the investigation takes center stage, "Murder on the Orient Express" loses some of its energy due to a muddled plotting and lack of tension, and not even the stellar ensemble cast can keep it on trails the whole way through.

I've never seen the original movie, but I really enjoyed this one. Thought it was very tense the whole way through the film.
I though I'd like it more than I did. The visuals were great, though. My favorite part of it was before the murder.
