So are you pulling for the Social Network?

Alex, absolutely! I reckon it deserves to win BEST PICTURE, way more than The King's Speech does.

It,s OK. No worries ;)

I loved Social Network, but I picked King's Speech on my Oscar ballot. I hope I'm wrong, but I went with my gut. Can't wait to see how it all shakes out.

Ah, Mel... The King's Speech is the typical Oscar material, and I'm sick of typical Oscar materials :) It was great but definitely not the best. Same can be said for Firth's overrated performance. My opinion though. :)

Honestly, there is a great selection this year. It's really hard to pick just one. However, I really loved "127 hours." I think I am just so amazed at how it was that good and required so little. If I could choose a film outside of these 10 I would choose "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World." I know it would never happen but it would be nice to see a film like that get appreciated at an event like this. Will the Academy get it right? I can hope for the best but probably not. Great post!!

Thanks, Nicole! :)

"127 Hours" was an incredible experience! I absolutely loved it.

"Scott Pilgrim" deserves to be nominated for best editing and visual effects. It was insane and one of my 2010's favorites.

Unfortunately, the probably won't. I expect the overrated "Speech" to get most of the awards. Damn!

They go for another safe choice again this year, The King’s Speech. I think The Social Network or Inception deserve it more, cause they’re modern and something different. Even David Fincher was robbed for his award, and so was Nolan. Directors who has such a wonderful pedigree and resume like them, loses to the guy who just made one good movie :(

Jaccsy, everything was fine till they announced Best Director and Best Picture... I couldn't believe what was happening! Hooper over Fincher and Nolan?!? WTF?! It was a total JOKE! And, yes, KS was the safest choice possible - both The Social Network and Inception were much more polished and accomplished films! The Academy got it wrong again. Hey, who cares?

like you I was pulling for the Social network, but knew that Kings speech would win it, like you say typical Oscar material

I am seeing the comments above and knew the awards would get this reaction again, and I have to agree with both you and Jaccsy, it was very predictable, and thought the Social Network deserved more concideration than what it got.

Glad to see you back Mr. Miami :) Where the heck have you been?

I was terribly disappointed by the Oscars. Everything was so boring and predictable. And Hooper won best director?! WTF?! Fincher should have won!

Glad you agree with us, Demps. TSN should have won BEST PICTURE, not the overrated King's Speech.
