I think I like your winners the best. :) The Academy should take a look at your choices.
Oh, only three to Inception? Hey, at least you gave best animated to a movie other than Toy Story 3. I thought it was great, but Tangled and How to Train Your Dragon were both better, and it's a shame everyone things TS3 is a guaranteed winner.
That's a perfect list of winners if I ever saw one!! Love that you chose James Franco "127 hours" for best actor he was brilliant in that film. Not an easy job when you are basically the only vital character. "The Social Network" for best editing and score-definitely! Trent Reznor is a fabulous musician and really delivered that additional intensity to each scene. Best Makeup-great choice. Didn’t enjoy the film itself but Rick Baker is a genius with Special EFX even though I think CGI ended up getting involved. Baker still laid out a solid foundation. Great Post!!
This is a good list. I'm more or less along your line less a few categories. It's always lots of fun to generate a personal award list, like that "Best Straight-to-DVD" Category.
Nice!
Oh, I'd love to be a guest star announcing the best foreign language films :)
Ah, thanks, Mel :) Your lovely comments always mean a lot to me :)
Yep, they should. Not because I'm a bigger connoisseur, but because they're so conservative and predictable, it's ridiculous.
You even liked my pick for leading actor winner? :)
Alex, there were a few better movies than "Inception" last year :) I reckon they deserve to win in almost all technical categories. Having said that, "Inception"'s score was the worst ever. So annoying!
Glad you said that, Alex. Just like you, I thought both Tangled and HTTYD were better than Toy Story 3. I'm sick and tired of Pixar winning every year. So predictable!
Thanks, Nicole! :) Did I mention, you're sweet? :)
I was torn between Franco and Ryan Gosling (in "Blue Valentine".) This guy deserves more credit! He's a better actor than most of the others nominated in this category. Colin Firth wasn't even in my top 3, since I think he's a one trick pony! His performance in King's Speech is the most overrated male performance ever! Rush was million times better than him. Firth is somewhat stiff and almost lifeless.
Yep, "The Wolfman" was mediocre at best, but the special and make-up effects were pretty impressive! The transformation in the court room was amazing, and yes, Baker is a genius!
J-Son, buddy, it's definitely lots of fun.. that's why I made one ;) As for the best STV / Made for TV category, I highly recommend Temple Grandin - it's an incredible film! Thanks.
Ah, Jaccsy... I'd love that too ;) This is actually my favorite category, simply because my picks are so 'out of the box' :)
Well...there may be a disagreement there. ;) But overall, I like your picks, sweetie. :)
I know, hun. ;) Thanks :)
Good stuff. I agree with you on most of your picks. Lets go Fincher, The Social Network, and Franco!
Thanks, Matt ;) Glad you liked my picks. Franco definitely deserves more credit for his performance in "127 Hours".
