Letters to Juliet (2010)
"Letters to Juliet" is like a breath of fresh air in the rom-com genre that desperately needed it. It revolves around Sophie, an aspiring New Yorker writer, who travels to Verona, Italy and discovers the charming custom of lovelorn women writing letters to Juliet (Yes, Shakespeare's Juliet). Sophie accidentally finds an unanswered letter, and tries to reply it back after 50 years. The letter wrote by a woman named Claire takes them to a quest to find Claire's first love, Lorenzo Bartolini. Basically, "Letters to Juliet" more of a road movie, rather than regular rom-com, which gives it a touch of uniqueness, along with the lavish Italian scenery. Italy is a perfect setting for the story, because of the heavy emphasis on romance. The scenery itself is so splendid and lush, you feel like you are in Italy for real. Breathtakingly gorgeous landscapes and stunning shots of Verona and Siena, make this romantic experience even more pleasant and beautiful. The direction is excellent, with camera angles capture every emotion expressed by the characters, as they find the true power of love. Seyfried feels very natural in her role as Sophie and she makes her character very believable and sincere. Vanessa Redgrave illuminates the screen even at 73 and pretty much outshines everyone else - she is absolutely convincing in conveying both the grace and gentleness of age Gael Barcia Bernal is brilliant as the very annoying husband. Christopher Egan as Charlie is very handsome, but a bit flat and lacking in charisma. Slightly predictable, yet refreshing and truly engaging, "Letters to Juliet" is a delightful crowd pleaser and one of the better romantic comedies of the past few years.

Rom-coms are really not my thing, they just good in making me sleep. But I'm somewhat curious with those inviting big sexy eyes of Seyfried :)
Rom-coms aren't my thing either, but this one really captivated me. It was probably because of the stunning Italian scenery (I've been there and totally loved it) and, of course, Amanda. She has such an expressive eyes and sensual lips.... truly eye-candy! You should watch this one with your girlfriend, Jaccsy. I bet she's going to love it:)
