Quick Review: The most magically bizarre romance ever told, invented by Del Toro vivid creativity, sense of wit and eye for detail, "The Shape of Water" is an extraordinarily emotive creature feature love story, whose sublimely artful cinematography and aquatic color palette, combined with the earthy tones and shady lighting enhance the fairy tale-ish feel and retro look of this visual stunner. The stellar ensemble cast all deliver, and Hawkins excels with her expressively mute main performance.

It opens wide here and I am really looking forward to it. After Pan's Labyrinth though, I am prepared for a depressing ending.
Saw the premiere last night at a local film fest, and I was absolutely blown away - it was funny, touching, intelligent, and even a bit naughty. Not to mentions it looked phenomenal. And the ending was... wow.
