Quick Review: Divinely grim in its medieval grittiness, shot with grace, written with thought, and acted with passion, this Shakespearean fiction is technically hard to fault, but if you anticipate anything thrilling or epic, you might be disappointed, as "The King" is a long, sluggish, and muddy historical drama about war, death, and barbarism, mostly focused on the rocky leadership of a daring and confident, if flawed young monarch, and driven by its 'royal' characters and profound dialogues.
