Quick Review: Although fairly witty, the script's predictability leads the story in a pretty expected direction, offering no surprises along the way, and yet "The Last Word" manages to remain consistently entertaining for all its two-hour running time, as watching a retired control freak and a spunky young writer trying to get along simply can never be boring, especially if those two are played by the spicy MacLain, and the spirited Seyfried, who make their on-and-off relationship really work.
