QuickRating: In terms of visual and directing style, Sean Durkin's first full-length film feels like a Sofia Coppola recreation of Lans Von Trier's "Melancholia". This quietly sinister indie drama is slow, moody, depressing and quite pretentious, however, "Martha Marcy May Marlene" is elevated by Olsen's career-making, mesmerizing debut performance as the disturbingly schizophrenic title character.

She appears to be the only Olsen sister with real dramatic talent. LOL I want to check this out because it sounds quite intriguing and I do like Sofia Coppola. *bracing for the big WHAT! from you* LOL :)
Mel, LOL. Yes, I despise Sofia. She's such a dull and lazy director.
No, Olsen wasn't that dramatic, but her performance was very very bizarre in a good way of course.
Oh goodness, so you know I have this crush on Sofia Coppola so this film sounds right up my alley. I will have to see this plus I like the Olsen twins (fashion wise) so I'm sure I will enjoy their sister as well.
Nicole, I know you're a huge Coppola fan, that's why I think you're gonna love this one - it's slow, uneven and full of unnecessary extended scenes, just like every Coppola film. Sorry for the sarcasm. :) Olsen's performance was great and I believed every minute of it.
