QuickRating: Set in a ridiculously inaccurate location, and featuring an implausible story, poor direction, annoying characters and tons of cheap thrills and overly-familiar horror gimmicks, The Asylum's "The Amityville Haunting" feels and looks like a lame "Paranormal Activity" rip-off, so terribly made and so un-scary, that even die-hard fans of the 'found footage' genre will find really hard to appreciate.

I'll be sure to avoid it!
Alex, you better do.
Maynard, the DVD screener leaked last week. I saw it the same night, but now I regret it. LOL.
Thanks, but isn't it a bit too early for new year greetings? :)
Um, the 'Happy New Year' ironically relates to the fact that I'm gonna torture myself next year by watching 10(!) awful Amityville flicks.
You see, it will be a 'Happy' new year for me :)
I just realized that next year's self-torture will be incredibly brutal:
I plan to watch all 9 Hellraiser movies, all 9 Children Of The Corn movies, all 10 amityville movies and all 4 Wrong Turn movies.
2012 - The year Maynard's becoming an Uber-Masochist :D
Ah, silly me. I got it now. LOL.
I try to avoid the Asylum films, but I was curious about this one.
Harry, you're insane... that's really gonna be a pure cinematic torture. You naughty masochist! :)
LOL well, it's a dirty job but somebody's gotta do it :D
I usually avoid the Asylum craptacular specials. They bore me. Definitely will be avoiding this one, too. Great slice n dice, sweetie. :)
Mel, at first I didn't know it was an Asylum movie. Actually I found out right after I finished watching it. Saw it just because it was a FF horror flick, but it turned out HORRIBLE.
Well I will be sure to avoid this one! It sounds a bit silly now after reading your review. I just wonder how people get away with making such poor/unscary horror films.
Nicole, avoid this one at all costs. It's neither scary nor particularly interesting. I wonder the same thing. LOL.
