Looks pretty cool.
As much as I dislike computer generated special effects, ever since THE STORM RIDERS, Hong Kong cinema has been able to successfully imitate the artistic extravagance showcased in their comic books. I haven't bought any since the 90s, but their artwork in those is nothing short of amazing.
Personally I prefer the older Wuxia epics whether the bloody excess from Chang Cheh or the complex romanticism of Chu Yuan's adaptations. Still, the recent crop of Wuxia flick is pretty to look out no doubt.
Alex, Ricky... it definiotely does look pretty cool. Great visuals aside, I like the dynamic of it.
venom5, that's an impressive comment, my firend, and I perfectly understand what you're trying to say.
One one hand, I also prefer old school wuxia like CTHD and Reign of Assassins, but one the other, I also the new wave wuxia.
The Storm Raiders was a bit overdone in terms of CGIs, as was Legend of Zu and The Duel.
However, Zhang Yimou for instance was so beautifully-crafted, it left me speechless.
This sounds fantastic and the trailer was stunning.
I saw Captain America this weekend and did not like it at all. I am currently writing a review skewering it. Chris Evans was either really awful or the character was just that one-dimensional.
Glad you liked it, hon. I also found it to be pretty stunning and full of energy.
Oh, you didn't?! Damn, I hoped it will be at least decent. Evans is a handsome guy, but he's either too stiff or to goofy to be called a good actor.
This becomes one of the films on my watch list, definitely catching this when it releases! Been a while since I've seen Jet Li. :)
J-Son, I'm so thrilled about it, it feels like I have to wait for like 10 more years to see it. LOL.
The Expendables aside, the last time I watched Jet Li was in The Mummy 3... and the film was dreadful :)
