[5.00/10] Creep (2015)

Creep (2015)

Quick Review: Far from scary, but totally disturbing, "Creep" lives up to its title 100%, owing all of that to Patrick Brice, who turns in a totally nutty performance as the seemingly friendly, yet obsessive troubled man skillfully manipulating his victims with his confusing behavior. It all comes across very credibly through Brice's camera, who also directs the movie. However, the fact that "Creep" takes quite some time to warm up can't be neglected, plus, it looks awful even for a 'found footage' film.

That's one of the drawbacks of found footage film - the quality isn't great and the camera shots are all over the map. If this is even worse than normal, think I will pass.

Alex, it's just ugly. They put very little effort, if any, into the visuals.

I'm already not looking forward to it because of the fact that it's found footage. Not to mention that Eli Roth's name on anything anymore doesn't mean crap. It's the same difference as putting FROM THE PRODUCERS OF INSIDIOUS AND PARANORMAL ACTIVITY on everything. All that means is that it's a wait until it's on Netflix kinda flick. I'm gonna pass on this one. Great review, brother.

Drew, I was a bit of a sucker for found footage in the past, but not anymore. Why, you ask? Well, mediocre flicks like this one (and worse) made me dislike this sub-genre.
Putting FROM THE PRODUCERS OF INSIDIOUS AND PARANORMAL ACTIVITY on every crappy horror film annoys me to death. I hope these guys realize that that doesn't make the movie any better.
Thanks, buddy. I appreciate it! :)
