Quick Review: It starts off with a bang, then goes downhill and totally loses its steam mid-way through, but then picks up again and delivers in the end. Inconsistent pacing aside, "Hercules" is a guilty pleasure type of feature, that not only never takes itself seriously, but even embraces its lightweight silliness. Furthermore, the creature fights, though insanely rushed are very entertaining, the 3D is great, the battle scenes, while far from epic, are fairly exciting, and the acting is actually decent.

Quick Review: It is an easy, and pleasant watch, and it's interesting to see how five female characters with such different personalities interact and connect with each other, plus, there are even some truly amusing moments in it here and there, but "The Single Moms' Club", like pretty much every other Tyler Perry movie, is very cliched, thinly-plotted, and full of stereotypes, and all that combined heavily overshadows the film's charm and potential of decency.

Quick Review: Clever, thrilling, conceptually-genius, and executed with mastery and panache, "Edge of Tomorrow" easily ranks as on of the most genuinely original sci-fi flicks in movie history, confidently flaunting a refreshingly unpredictable plot, that gives 'repetitiveness' a new positive meaning, overwhelmingly fast-paced action sequences, top-notch special effects, darkly humorous script, and fantastic performances from Cruise and Blunt, whose intense chemistry adds to the excitement.

Dead Snow: Red vs. Dead (2014)

Quick Review: Featuring dozens of  beyond inventive death scenes, excessive gore, and guts galore, “Dead Snow 2” is definitely made- for-fun, which sort of excuses its zombie-like brainlessness and non- existent plot – the latter you wouldn’t care much about. In addition, it has higher production values than the first movie, a bigger sense of humor, and quirkier characters, you might strangely care about. In other words it's the better of the two.

Quick Review: Christophe Gan's take on the timeless fairy tale has barely something new to offer in terms of storytelling, even though he adds a couple of new elements to it, and it is somewhat hard to connect with on an emotional level, but "La Belle et la Bette" is still worth-seeing for its utterly exquisite production design, low-key, yet rich cinematography, and the director's exceptional attention to detail, that enhances the visuals.

Quick Review: Grimmer, gloomier, grittier, and more mature than the original reboot, but also technically classier, to the point of perfection, "Dawn" is a raging, anger-driven, if profoundly humane sequel, largely complemented by both Matt Reeves' remarkable direction, which skillfully balances drama and some personal moments, with а truly startling action and edge-of-your-seat tension, and Serkis' stellar digi-performance, that further elevates the film.

Quick Review: Arguably the worst installment since the second, "Age of Extinction" is, in typical Bay fashion, big, loud, and messy, but maybe a little bit too over-the-top, and a lot less spectacular this time around. The CGI work is yet again flawless, the action scenes are very in-your-face, plus, the new cast does a reasonable job, considering the repetitively weak script, but in the end, it all feels way too familiar, and not exciting enough to make a big impression.

Quick Review: Surprisingly well- made, considering its obviously tiny budget, and decently-acted by all known and unknown actors in it, "Beneath" doesn't feel like a cheap straight-to-DVD flick. Also, set in a dark and creepy mine with no exit, the film is beyond claustrophobic, and will certainly make you gasping for air, but on the other hand, aside from a few scary images, "Beneath" doesn't really know what to do with itself, in order to fairly successfully frighten up its audience.

Quick Review: Just as exquisitely stylish and visually-arresting, as it's original and undeniably ingenious, "The Grand Budapest Hotel" may be slightly overwritten at times, but that is rather intentional. Combining a deeply absorbing, yet amusing story and fascinatingly quirky characters, and taking a total advantage of its breathtaking settings, this is a near- masterpiece of limitless imagination and inventive ideas, only a master- mind is able to execute.

Quick Review: Cameron Diaz is as appealing as usual, but the film's main strength is Mann's amusing, over-the-top performance as Kate. And even though it gets better and funnier towards the end, all in all "The Other Woman" fails to escape from mediocrity, mainly due to its inconsistency and not witty enough writing. Both of those shortcomings, along with Nick Cassavetes' so-so direction put this comedy into the run-of-the-mill category, and that is never ever a good thing.

Quick Review: It's no "Sinister", and it doesn't really break any new grounds as far as exorcism-themed movies go, plus, there are some minor pacing issues along the way, but nevertheless "Deliver Us from Evil" remains a solid crime horror, that is constantly intriguing, mostly thanks to Bana's strong lead role, and Derrickson's ability not only to create a truly ominous atmosphere, but also to maintain it throughout, providing decent scares.

Quick Review: More polished in production, if not as inventive and mind-blowingly frantic as the unique original film, "The Raid 2" is a 150- minute thrill ride of hyper violence, stylishly-executed and remarkably- choreographed fight scenes, each more heart-poundingly intense then the next, all surrounded by a solid plot, and further elevated by the likable Iko Uwais' impressive action skills and acting abilities. This is the near-perfect sequel, fans of the first flick were hoping to get.

Quick Review: Okay, it causes a laugh or two along the way, and Zac Efron turns out to be a surprisingly good comedic 'villain', but the film's utter cluelessness, cruelty, and flat jokes take away from its potential, with the end result being a cocky comedy that thinks it is way more hilarious than it actually is, that will please undemanding viewers only. Furthermore, Seth Rogen is typically obnoxious, and Rose Byrne, while trying her best, is totally miscast, and often seems out of place.

Quick Review: Swallowed by the murky beauty of its truly enchanting visuals and uber-imaginative special effects, and largely overpowered by Angelina Jolie's captivating, if sadly sometimes contrived performance, that basically saves the entire film, "Maleficent" is a clumsily-edited and poorly-paced Disney feature, that would hardly stand the test of time, because of its half-baked story, that promises to be darkly engaging, but ends up being surprisingly sugary and santimental instead.

CineMarvellous! Quoted in a "Dark Tide" TV Spot!

A few minutes ago, while googling 'CineMarvellous!', I accidentally found out that I've been quoted in a TV spot for 2012's shark flick "Dark Tide", starring the utterly amazing Halle Berry. I'm happy, of course, but also surprised, since I gave this film a pretty low rating, and didn't praise it much. Here's my review of it. Anyway, that's the very first time I've been quoted in a movie ad, or a poster, or a trailer, so YAY ME! :) Below, you can watch the TV spot I've been quoted in.

Quick Review: One or two sinister images and a couple of reasonable scares aside, "The Quiet Ones" brings absolutely nothing new, or even remotely original to the table. It all feels obnoxiously familiar, thus unengaging, and that combined with the sub-par acting makes it a tough experience. Moreover, being rather cheap-looking, this movie fails to capture the era of the 70s properly, visually, with the result being one big ugly-looking bore, that shouldn't have been made at all.

Quick Review: The stylishly simple visuals create a bleak atmosphere, and the promising young actress Taissa Farmiga gives a captivating performance, that will surely drawn viewer's attention every time she's on screen, but on the other hand this psychological thriller is neither as smart, nor as unpredictable as it thinks it is, as it gives far too many clues along the way, some of them more obvious than others, hence, it ends up being a missed opportunity, that truly underwhelms.
