[9.50/10] Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings [3D] (2021)

Shang-Chi [3D] (2021)

Quick Review: A rousing if emotive story about an endearing friendship and a family torn by grief that shifts between the present and an 'wuxia' fantasy world which honors Chinese mythology, the deftly-filmed "Shang-Chi" flaunts vibrant visual artfulness alongside the masterful fights, jaw-dropping stunts, and swanky action, enhanced by superb CGIs and nifty use of 3D, but its Asian cast is just as glorious -- Liu breathes his hero, Leung domineers, whilst Awkwafina brings the wit and humor.

Saw it Friday - thought it was excellent and such a refreshing change from the typical Marvel films.

It's a good movie, but not worth 9.5 , first half was excellent but 2nd half was average. It's like Asian black Panther, with same hidden city concept. I usually agree with your reviews but not this time. Max 7.

Well, my reviews are pretty subjective. For me, it was the best standalone MCU movie since Iron Man. Also, being a huge, huge fan of the wuxia genre, I loved that part of it was inspired by it. I also loved the fact that most of the choreography was in the same vein as some 90s Jackie Chan films, as well as martial arts classics such as Tai Chi Master, Iron Monkey, Ip Man, etc.
Had no issues with the second half at all. Knowing little about the character itself, I had no idea what to expect, so I was pleasantly surprised that the final act was basically a monster movie. As for the CGIs...all of it was necessary, but best of all -- the effects were top notch. Besides, the story has an emotional weight, the villain was powerful and intimidating, and all the jokes were pretty spot on. Excellent secondary characters, too. In my book, it's definitely a 9.50 out of 10. :) I appreciate your opinion, though. Each to their own they say... ;)

I like the way you explain things so well, I appreciate your view. Peace. I am silent reader of all your reviews and they all are helpful for me to choose. Please start reviewing web series too there are plenty of them. Thanks

Thank you so much. You have no idea how much that means to me. Silent readers make me so happy, especially when they show up to comment here and there. :)
I don't have the time to watch TV shows, sadly. I've seen only a bunch of mini series such as Chernobyl (10 out of 10), Mare from East Town, Big Little Lies, It's a Sin, and a few others.
