[5.25/10] Antebellum (2020)

Antebellum (2020)

Quick Review: Visually stylish, yet lackluster, and more perplexing than intriguing in its audacity, this horror wannabe tries to be provocative and deliver a racial message with impact along with some chills, but it fails at both, and though MonĂ¡e shines in it and the mildly effective Shyamalan-esque twist in the third act clears up all the 'enigma' around the random narrative, it doesn't change the fact that "Antebellum" has no idea what it aims, what it wants to be, or what precisely is trying to say.

There's enough confusion in the real world without me watching it on the screen.

Alex, I know right. Unnecessary.
