QuickRating: Bold, frighteningly daring and disturbingly realistic, sometimes utterly cruel, but always compelling, "The Devil's Double" stuns with its dazzling production design, gold-toned cinematography, and Tamahori's spot-on direction, but above all, it showcases the undeniable acting talent of UK rising star, Dominic Cooper, who delivers one of the very best, most brilliantly convincing and sadly overlooked performances of the year.

I've been wondering about this movie--I keep seeing posters and such for it, but I haven't heard a single word about it from anyone who's seen it! I'm officially intrigued. I may have to check this one out! Great review.
M. Hufstader, I was really looking forward to this one, and thankfully, it didn't leave me disappointed. Cooper blew me away with his double performance, and he should get more credit than he received so far.
I have not heard of this film like at all. But I trust you so I will give this a shot.
Mel, really? It had a limited release in the US this summer. Obviously very limited. :)
Check it out, and witness the best male performance of the year.
That one slipped under the radar for me - will check NetFlix!
Alex, make sure you see it. It's different and very entertaining.
Nebular, I must commend you. Of the highest order, your prolific pursuit of film discovery is remarkable. Every time I stop by my blog, I notice you've posted another review of another movie I've not seen. You're inspiring. Keep watching the goods, my friend!
And nice review :)
Matty, thanks for the lovely words, buddy. You made my day. :) I watch pretty much everything, because I want to see as many films as possible. I'll be glad if that helps to another moviegoers and bloggers to decide what they wanna see.
Over the next week, I'll be posting 3 quickratings a day, so stay tuned. :)
I heard this was really good and with your added recommendation I will definitely have to see this. I think I saw it for rent the other day, I will have to go snag it for sure. : )
Nicole, not only it was very entertaining, but also it was kind of an eye-opener. I think you'll be fascinate by Cooper's brilliant double performance. Go rent it now. :)
The movie was good, but what I really liked was the story. I just found it interesting. I always thought if you had a double in that situation less people would know about it, but it seemed like everyone knew. Particularly when they went everywhere together. Did you see the DVD extras when they interviewed the guy? What a truly crazy life he has lived. Great quick review! By the way, you doing any kind of top movie of 2011 list?
HorrO, I liked both, the story and the movie. I'm doing a top 20 list every year, but I won't going to post it until I see all the films I need to. Expect that list somewhere in February or March. :)
That's cool. Something to look forward to. I can respect wanting to see all the movies first. I wish I would have been able to see a few more horror movies before I made my list. Hopefully a horror movie or 2 make your list. Want to read something funny??? After I posted the comment about the list I noticed you have a top reviewed movie list! I need to pay more attention!!!
I would never do a top list just because it's the end of the year.
It's okay, buddy. You don't need to be familiar with everything I'm doing. I'll let you know when I post the list. ;)
