My great friend Alex J. Cavanaugh is hosting yet another awesome blogfest, and this time, it's all about fun & games. Even though I'm not much of a video game junkie, I decided to list the three most favorite arcade video games from my childhood. Yes, from my childhood. :) Check them out below, and I hope they will bring back good memories to you.
*****
1. Street Fighter II
*****
As a true martial arts geek, I've always liked fighting games, therefore "Street Fighter II" is my favorite video game of all time! I've played it hundreds, if not thousands, of times and each time was better than the last. Vega from Spain was my favorite fighter of them all, and I was literally obsessed with him.
*****
2. Mortal Kombat II
*****
Another fighting video game? Hell, yeah! :) "Mortal Combat" was very fast-paced, a bit difficult to play, and way more violent than "Street Fighter", but what the hell.. it was fun! :) Raiden was my very favorite character, and I just loved playing with him.
*****
"Tumblepop" had virtually everything you could ask for in a simple arcade video game - it was entertaining, exciting, catchy, colorful, vivid, and a true joy to play. I loved every bit of it, plus, I was UNBEATABLE! :)

Never heard of Tumblepop! Thought I'd played everything at the arcade. And two of those are movies as well - nice touch.
Thanks for participating in the blogfest!
Alex, really? Ah, it was a super-cool video game and I miss it so much. As far as I know, It's Chinese.. or Japanese..?!!? :)
The pleasure was all mine, Alex. :)
I haven't heard of Tumblepop either, but thanks for sharing these great games anyhow!
Jeffrey, obviously this game hasn't been popular in the US at this time.
love Street fighter 2 and still have a crush on Chun Li. Hated the movies, but the animated movie and series were not that bad.
These are all games that came about when I was well into my adulthood and not really playing games too often other than the everyday games of life.

Humm...Never heard of Tumblepop either.
But I AM glad I came across this blog. Nicely done and GREAT reference tool for me and my wife, both movie lovers to the core!
I was a huge Mortal Kombat fan, but never got into Street Fighter at all.
Nebular - Love, love the first two. Never heard of the third. =D
Ahhh! I remember playing Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat a looong time ago. Thanks for bringing back memories! :)
More computer games I'm not good at! It's a long list though.
Yes. Yes. And Yes! Great choices Nebular! Street Fighter II and Mortal Kombat II bring back awesome memories. My friends and I used to stage epic all-day gaming battles around these two games. Plus, they were the most fun ARCADE games around...esp. now that the old school Arcade atmosphere has met its demise.
Fighting video games are as good as it gets, particularly the ones from our youth. Thanks for bringing back the great nostalgic memories!
You're making me miss arcades.
I'm finding a lot of games I've never heard of through this blogfest; all of these are unfamiliar to me.
Thanks for sharing!
I loved Streetfighter II, I could hundred handslap with the best of them.

Hi,
These are the sort of games that drive me nuts if people forget to plug in their earpieces and I'm getting the sound effects, too. :o Murder comes to mind very quickly!

Interesting selection. Haven't heard of Tumblepop. I've also got a videogame as one of my 3 choices. =D
My older brother used to play Street Fighter all the time.
My little brother loved Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat. I loved the movie, lol!
My stepson was a Mortal Combat fanatic.
Street Fighter, I remember that one~ I haven't heard of Tumblepop either, looks intriguing~
Thanks for bringing back some great memories!
Ah memories...I would always get my ass kicked in Mortal Kombat and in Streetfighter. The only one I could beat in Mortal Kombat was the kid I babysat for and he was five. LOL! Tumblepop looks very cool and I wish I could check it out here. Awesome games, sweetie! Glad you participated and shared the fun.
Tumblepop...ya, might pass on that one. But I do play Street Fighter and Mortal. Well that's kinda obvious. LOL
I love Dark Ken and Sub Zero.
Who are your favorites, and can we play sometime? I'd love to kick your ass! :D
Budd, glad to hear that. I loved Chun Li as well, especially her super-fast thunder kick. She was my second favorite, along with Vega.
Arlee, that's understandable.
Bryce, "Tumblepop" was quite popular here in Europe. :)
So glad you like my blog, and I hope to see you /and your wife/ here more often ;)
Tim, and I was bit more int SF, than I was into MK. It more enjoyable to play, IMO.
RaShelle, thanks, girl. I loved those two as well... and the third one. :)
Cherie, that's what I hoped for :)
L. Diane Wolfe, a long list? There are only 3 :)
Matty, glad I brought good old memories to you, bud. :) Although ARCADE games are so yesterday, I miss them a lot.
Carol, that's exactly what I wanted to do with this post. :)
The Golden Eagle, you haven't heard of any of these? How is that possible? :)
Dave, SF2 was a blast!:)
Francine, it sounds like a torture for you :)
Thanks, Donna. I'm gonna check your list right away...
Nicole, than he's right up my street :)
The Words Crafter, I prefer the games.. I thought the movies were extremely cheesy :)
M Pax, i kinda like the word 'fanatic', especially when speaking of movies and games :)
Ella, glad to know this post brought back memories to you. And yes, Tumblepop is super-intriguing and fun.
Mel, I'm extremely glad I participated in this blogfest. Alex' fests are always fun. :)
So you got your as beaten in MK & SF? Well, that's kinda hilarious.. and sweet. :)
Thanks, hon!
T.D. McFrost, in fact, Tumblepop is way more interesting than it seems. You should try it out. ;) I loved Ken as well, but I was more into Scorpio rather than Sub Zero. ;)
I haven't heard of "Tumblepop" but have played the others. It looks like "Tumblepop" may have inspired "Ghostbusters."
As for fighting games, I prefer the Virtual Fighter, Soul Calibur, and Dead or Alive series of games. I also like Evil Zone for some strange reason, although it's rated poorly.
Reid, obviously none of you guys has. :) "Tumblepop" has been inspired by "Ghostbuster".. probably :)
I haven't played any of those you mentioned, except for Dead or Alive.. and I f**kin' loved it! :)
mortal kombat excellent choise... never hear of tumblepop though
Baygirl, thanks! :) "Tumblepop" was so much fun!
