Twitch has debuted an early promo trailer for a project called "Samurai" that will be the directorial debut of Jerry O'Flaherty, who has worked for years as the art director on Epic's "Gears of War" video game series. They're developing a samurai vs ninja action movie using hyper-stylized action straight from Zack Snyder's "300". But the kicker is that they're using the Unreal 3 video game engine to render the props and environments. And it's pretty damn impressive to see, although it's not in high def.
This trailer for "Samurai" (watch below) was a "no-budget piece shot in two days with a volunteer cast of five people against a white background. The background plates were created in Unreal with the intent of sharing all of the environment assets between the movie and the game". The project is being produced by Blacklight Transmedia and State Street Pictures.

this one looks cool, I love everything done in 300 style! I might even steal this story from you if Sunday gets boring :) You won't mind I'm sure :) I'll pay what you ask :)
Glad you think it's cool, Dezz :) It's truly amazing if you ask me. Of course! Feel free to use whatever you want from my blog ;) I'll be happy to see this posted on HOLLYWOOD SPY! :) I don't want anything.. it's totally free for you, dearest Dezz! :)
ah, you'll never earn a $1000 with such politics :)
It's totally interesting how young directors are using YouTube and such short improvised teasers to draw attention from the big studios.
Yep, it was same case with "Cup of Tears", which looked even more dazzling the "Samurai". Time to shoot a stunning short film or fake trailer, don't you think? :)
and plus Serbian movie TECHNOTISE also used the same method. They made a fake trailer with some scenes from the Serbian film and Milla Jovovich and that's how they got the attention of the big studios :)
Are you going to post this "Samurai" trailer on HOLLYWOOD SPY or not? :)
today not, maybe if we have a lack of news some day this week :)
As you wish, Dezz. Jaccsy already posted it on BUZZES CAFE.
yep, I've seen it today, and I admonished him for not putting your name and link :)
Well, the source was TWITCH, so he might have seen it the same time I did. I was just the one who posted it first. I don't blame him for not putting my name on this ;) It's fine with me.
Yes Neb.. I first seen this trailer at Firstshowing which then took me to TwitchFilm.
I know, Jaccsy :) I presumed you saw at Twitch or First Showing ;) I rarely post preview, therefore I don't have any claims for owning the rights :) Ha-ha :)
