[4.75/10] The Signal (2014)

The Signal (2014)

Quick Review: A bit geeky, a bit artsy, a bit dreamy, a bit high-tech, but confusing most of the time, “The Signal” is a mid-budget sci-fi feature crafted with style, that tries too hard to be different and original, but falls in its own trap of odd senselessness instead, sadly offering its viewers a rather unsatisfying experience. And not even the mesmerizing musical score and solid performances from pretty much everyone involved can turn this cinematic experiment into a relatively successful one.

I really liked it until the final third. That's were the whole thing collapsed into a big steaming pile of senselessness and stupidity.
Kinda sad. I had big hopes for this one after adoring the director's previous film LOVE so much.
Hope he gets it right again next time around.

Phil, I see your point, and I kinda agree, except that I thought it was just okay, until that final act. Felt like this movie didn't know what to do with itself, and the end result for me was 'too random'. It was good in terms of style and visuals, though. :)
