Quick Review: Equal parts sinister and funny, without compromising on the emotional side of its story, which concerns bullying, domestic abuse, and oppression, this skillfully-crafted and faithful adaptation focuses on the adorably colorful characters and their naturally powerful bond, but it's also full of wit, laughs, romance, and suspense. With its genuine late '80s looks, and eerie tone, "It" is a chill- giver that delivers plenty of scares, with Pennywise being creepy as hell in its shapeshifting forms.

Reviewers compared it to Stand By Me and I agree. The kids were the best part of the film. Excellent movie.
They were, indeed. As Stephen King said himself: if you care about the characters, the scares work. And they did.
The CG monsters and Pennywise's habit of shaking his head when attacking the kids do come kinda distracting, but yeah, I'm glad I gave this one a chance! Near-perfect nostalgic piece right here!
Now, I kinda worry about Chapter Two...
Me too, Kaijinu. They've set the bar too high with this one. :)
