QuickRating: Although "Stake Land" brings nothing new to the table in terms of originality and scares, and it's pretty straight-forward most of the time, it features believable and complex characters, solid performances, fantastic post-apocalyptic settings and some of the finest make-up and gore effects this year. If you think the zombie genre is already dead, Jim Mickle's "Stake Land" will change your mind for sure.
might have to check this one out.
ReplyDeleteBudd, give it a shot. It's well worth-seeing.
ReplyDeleteSure, I'll give it a watch!
ReplyDeleteAlex, check it out. I think you may enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteI will have the pleasure to watch Stake Land at the Slash Filmfestival :)
ReplyDelete@Maynard
ReplyDeleteSo did you like it? :)
I have GOT to see this. I LOVE zombie movies and to me a zombie apocalypse is the best way to end the world. I took a quiz that said I'd survive a zombie apocalypse because I know how to use all manner of weapons and am willing to kick the weaker ones out of the shelter. ;) Hugs!
ReplyDeleteMel, I know you're a huge zombie flick fan, so I strongly recommend this film to you. It's solid, compelling and thankfully lacking in the cheesiness.
ReplyDeleteYou're such a badass chick, I'm sure you're gonna kick their zombie butts off :P
Don't think this will be available at my end, but will give it a shot if I have the chance to. Always looking to you for horror film recommendations, as I don't catch too many horror films myself.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the share George! :)
It won't? Hm, it's a limited release, but not that limited for Christ sake :) Do you watch movies online, J-son? If you do, I can provide you with the link for it :)
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, buddy. And also thanks for all those Twitter mentions. REALLY appreciate it!
