Only two on that list I haven't seen. Nice touch to include The Devil's Backbone. More people need to see that film. Not sure if I'd put The Thing or Jaws first. Might include the original Nightmare on Elm Street. It looks cheesy now, but when it came out, it was incredibly scary and effective.
Alex, they are both great. The Thing has something about it, though... The original Elm Street I'd rate an 8. Same goes for Halloween and The Shining for instance.
