[6.75/10] 10 Cloverfield Lane (2016)

10 Cloverfield Lane (2016)

Quick Review: There're some very familiar ideas, and more then a few cheesy lines during the first twenty minutes, and honestly, it's nowhere nearly as effective as the movie it's been inspired by, but thanks to the claustrophobic setting, tiny but very talented cast, and a well-conceived script that will make you all wonder, along with the confined characters, whether they are imprisoned or kept safe, "10 Cloverfield Lane" turns out to be more tense and intriguing than it appears to be at first.

I thought it was brilliant. Goodman's performance was so chilling. He could flip that switch between sympathetic and evil so well.

I didn't. Don't get me wrong, I liked it a lot at the end of the day, but I felt like it was too gimmicky, and that I've seen it before... not all, but most of it.

I enjoyed the movie. Suffice it to say the film keeps you both guessing and entertained from start to finish. Ms. Winsted would not have been my first choice to play Michelle, but she is convincing. John Goodman is his usual brilliant self. The ending was well done and lends itself to the making of a sequel, of sorts.

Greg, me too, but I expected more. I agree with everything you're saying, but the limited setting became tiresome pretty quickly, and the final act was a bit anti-climatic.
