[6.75/10] Lawless (2012)

Lawless (2012)

QuickRating: It's slightly uneven, and at times even monotonous, because it lacks the dynamic and energy that could have made it even better than it already is, but "Lawless" successfully makes up for these flaws with its gripping story and brilliant cast, all of whom deliver powerful performances, plus, set in the early 1930's this beautifully-shot vintage drama has an incredibly authentic feel to it, thanks to the outstanding cinematography, and top-notch production design.

At least it will be great to look at.

Alex, it certainly is visually spot-on.

The only flaw with this film is Shia the Beef, who is a horrible, horrible actor. He thinks twitching and yelling are "acting." I can't believe they cast him in this. As awful as Bradley Cooper in Silver Linings. These two should just stay out of films.

I think Shia is hardly the film's biggest flaw, but on the other hand I agree he was the weakest link. I kinda liked him in Transformers and Disturbia, but he barely fits in films like this. Had no idea you disliked Cooper in SLP that much. I'm not a fan of him either. At all. :)
