[3.50/10] LOL (2012)

LOL (2012)

QuickRating: Demi Moore's engaging performance and one or two enjoyable moments aside, Lisa Azuelos' tasteless coming of age dramedy, "LOL", certainly lives up to its silly title - it's laugh-out-loud cheesy, ridiculously predictable and overstuffed with tons of tired cliches, and not even Miley Cyrus' mouthwatering cuteness and sugary charm can save it from being an instantly forgettable ho-hum teen flick with cheap TV-series feel to it.

I had hoped Miley would grow up and well, find some talent, but alas that girl is completely lacking in any sort of serious acting talent thus far. She hasn't been offered anything other than this ridiculous movie and she had to negotiate to get a small part on Two and A Half Men, which is probably going off the air anyway. We're watching a childhood star crash and burn. She'll need to reinvent herself if she's going to remain relevant. Maybe she should use this time to take some acting lessons instead of trying to play versions of Hannah Montana.

Good point, sweetheart! Are you some kind of psychologist or what? :)
I couldn't agree more with you about Miley. She's cute as a button and has this cool rasp about her voice, but her acting skills are below par. It's a pity really, because she could have been a decent actress if she continued learning instead of playing the same role over and over again.

RedBox was trying to force this movie on me the other day but I was having none of it.

It seems that Miley Cyrus suffers the same fate as too many Disney child actors in that they are so typecast into specific roles that it's impossible from them to find new horizons when they've grown up.

Alex, trust me on this one and don't waste your time on this piece of crap.

I agree about Miley. She suffers from the that Disney curse you're talking about.
