[5.50/10] Texas Killing Fields (2011)

Texas Killing Fields (2011)

QuickRating: Sam Worthington shows a surprising acting range here, and the 2011 breakthrough actress Jessica Chastain delivers a knockout supporting performance, but "Texas Killing Fields" is a slow, moody, lifeless and pretty straight-forward crime thriller, with zero thrills, whose gloomy, blunt visuals and lazy camera work makes it feel more like a made-for-TV movie rather than a theatrical production. Though it has its moments, it's a rather unsatisfying experience.

Worthington didn't make it dull? Now that is amazing!

Alex, no he didn't. I was shocked as well.

That is unfortunate that this isn't that good. Will watch it down the road.

Ty, it was watchable, but nothing special actually.

Yeah this film did seem like something you watch only when you're bored. I probably won't see this one plus for some reason Worthington just does not interest me.

I had a feeling that this could turn out to be some kinda lamefest. Seems like a classic example of "title better than movie", because Texas Killing Fields is actually a pretty kick-ass title that promises some kinda chainsaw-gorefest. Could be also the name of a metal-band :)

Nicole, right until I saw this, I also thought Worthington is a mediocre actor. Much to my surprise, he did a pretty fine job here.

Harry, it's definitely not lame.. it's a "Zodiac" type of horror thriller, just not as half as good as Fincher's film. :) I dunno. I kinda liked the former title better. "The Fields" sounds a lot more scarier than Texas Killing Fields.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan, I'm there! I really, really love him. You will never convince me that Worthington has any talent whatsoever. He's a snorefest no matter what he does, in my opinion. Jessica is good and I adore Chloe Moretz so I'll be watching for them as well.

JDM is so captivating. I've always liked him. Believe it or not, Worthington does a pretty good job in this one. See for yourself. :)
Jessica is a chameleon. That's why I love her.
