[4.50/10] Panic Button (2011)

Panic Button (2011)

QuickRating: This potentially-good social network-inspired UK horror thriller has an ambitious premise, and its 'private jet' setting is insanely claustrophobic, but sadly, "Panic Button" feels too rushed, implausible and ludicrous to be taken seriously, and it's further ruined by a sub-par execution, genuine lack of suspense, and mediocre acting. But worst of all, it's neither as clever nor as shocking and mind-twisting as it thinks it is.

I was kind of curious about this one. It seems very Saw-like so I can imagine how it wasn't very shocking or clever, as you had mentioned. That's too bad.

Nicole, it was similar to Saw in some ways, but definitely not as gross. I liked the idea, but they just didn't execute it well. Pity.

You are working hard at saving me time from seeing crappy movies. I have been considering watching this and Texas Killing Fields, but after your reviews I might think twice. Hopefully today I will finish Some Guy who Kills People. Have you seen it? From what I have seen so far, it is not to bad.

Will gladly avoid this one, my friend. I didn't like the sound of it at all when I read the premise. Victims culled through online interaction...they've been doing that on cop shows here for years.

HorrO, I'm trying my best, mate. :)
I was curious about it as well, but ended up a bit underwhelmed.
Nope, I haven't. I'll give it a shot only if it's good. :)

Mel, it could have been great, but it just didn't work. I didn't believe a second of it.

So even after saying I wouldn't see this movie I did. Your review is on point. It seemed like a good idea for a movie, but wasn't executed right, and hard to believe in the end. A nice try I guess!

HorrO, you did? It was a waste of time, huh? :) Glad to see you agree with me on this one. Yep, it was a missed opportunity.

Thank you for the sensible critique. Me & my neighbor were just preparing to do a little research about this. We got a grab a book from our local library but I think I learned more from this post. I'm very glad to see such wonderful information being shared freely out there.

Unknown, glad that my one sentence review helped you decide whether you want to see this one or not. :)
