[7.25/10] Bridesmaids (2011)

Bridesmaids (2011)

QuickRating:
It does have some pacing issues, and it's unnecessarily overlong, but "Bridesmaids" still remains one of the best chick-flicks released in the past few years, as it's sharp, clever and honest, and provides tons of laughs, thanks to its brilliantly-written, witty script and genuine characters. The acting is definitely the highlight of the film, with Kristen Wiig's being absolutely sensational and laugh-out-loud funny as the raunchy Annie.

Would you believe my wife doesn't even like chick flicks?

Damn man, you are on a reviewing roll. I was so worried that this was going to be a terrible chick flick but it was hilarious. Guys who haven't seen it tell your girlfriend you are willing to see this chick flick and score some points with her. You will love the movie as well.

didn't like it as much as you, but overall it was pretty entertaining.

oh btw, George can you tell me a decent and easy program / website where can I make banner / logos like yours?
Don't worry, I don't wanna copy you. I just have enough of working with that crappy Windows Paint.

Something I loved about this film was the use of crude humor proving that women can be a little vulgar too. Too often films with a mostly female cast tend to be really, I don’t know, proper and not too honest. So I appreciate that this film allowed the women to be a bit unsophisticated. Kristen Wiig was amazing as usual but you gotta love Melissa McCarthy’s performance. She came out of nowhere for me.

Alex, why wouldn't I? :) And would you believe that Bridesmaids is not your typical chick-flick? I not only think that your wife will like it, but I reckon you'll enjoy it as well. ;)

HorrO, I need to catch up with my reviews. I've seen so many films lately, I don't have the time to review them all, so those I don't thing are 'big' or review-worthy, I "quickrate" :)

Bridesmaids was surprisingly great! Minor flaws aside, I absolutely loved it.

Maynard, it was far from brilliant, but very good indeed and quite hilarious. As much as I remember, you gave it a 6, right? :)

Maynard, no sorry buddy, I'm not very familiar with picture editing programs. I didn't make the banner. One of my oldest blog friends made it for me, and I'm very grateful for that. I absolutely LOVE IT. :)

Nicole, great analysis! I agree 100%!
It was vulgar, but in a good way, and all the women felt real and sincere, just how I like them. :)

And Melissa McCarthy was freaking amazing, I loved her too.

I thought this movie was brilliant. Far better than The Hangover. This was vulgar in-your-face raunchy humor that I love. Kristen and Melissa were just incredible and I am dying to watch it again. Excellent review, though I think I would have given this a 9, myself. It's right up there with Bad Teacher for me. ;)

Mel, what are you saying? :) Every comedy out there is better than the moronic Hangover. I rarely give a 0 or 10 to a comedy.. don't ask me why :) Bad Teacher was sillier than this one, but more funny and naughty. Loved them both.

yeah, I gave it a 6.

Hell yeah, your banner is just awesome!

It seems I have a good memory. :)

I'm sure you'll make a great banner for your awesome blog as well.
