[4.75/10] Psychosis (2010)

Psychosis (2010)

Short review: UK horror/thriller "Psychosis" opens with a serial killer, who unleashes his blood lust at a remote environmental-camp. Years later a horror novelist relocates to rural England and is plagued to the point of madness by horrific visions of a massacre in the house she lives with her husband. "Psychosis" is mildly engrossing and quite watchable little horror film, with enough intriguing elements and off-beat mystery to satisfy the average horror movie goers. Charisma Carpenter is a sympathetic heroine, and well-cast for the role of Susan. She shows emotions and her insanity is very believable. Former model, Paul Sculfor, is pretty unconvincing as the caring husband, who turned out to be a hypocritical cheater. Ricci Harnett as the mysterious and creepy gardener Peck, delivers the chills. In terms of visuals, the film is a misfire. It looks cheap, the camera work is amateurish and the editing is poor. I know it's a B-movie, but it doesn't mean it has to look like it was shot in the backyard. Overall, "Psychosis" is decent, yet instantly forgettable straight-to-DVD horror flick, and while far from original, it has its moments of tension and suspense.

  • My Rating: 4.75/10

  • IMDb: 4.7/10

unwatchable, this film overwhelmingly without merit on nearly every count.

I though the overall idea of this film was good, bit it was poorly-executed.
