[4.50/10] She's Out of My League (2010)

She's Out of My League (2010)

Short review: Long and unrewarding, "She's Out of My League", a romantic comedy with a laugh or two at some raunchy topics and a brief moment or two of reflection on self esteem. Otherwise the clichés kick in more quickly than boredom, which itself comes quickly. The script tries to be edgy and obnoxious but fails miserably. If you've watched any modern mainstream non romantic comedy you know what to expect here. It consists of swearing, more swearing and sexual innuendos. Other than the worthless humor we have tons of pseudo drama involved here. Just before the ending there is the formulaic 'sad' part, just like every other comedy movie nowadays. There is a dumb moral to be learnt at the end too. Jay Baruchel was awkward and painfully weird during the entire film, which was kinda annoying. The gorgeous Alice Eve was charming and vibrant and very convincing as leading actress. There was almost no chemistry between the leads though. The supporting cast was mediocre at best. There is nothing smart, witty, entertaining, original or redeemable about "She's Out of My League". It's just another pile of crap Hollywood has put out and will keep putting until people stop paying to watch poor films like this one.

  • My Rating: 4.50/10
  • Rotten Tomatoes: 58% (5.5/10)
  • IMDb: 6.7/10

At least we got to know Jay Baruchel, he is such a charming new face in Hollywood.

I didn't like him at all - ha was way too awkward and he really got on my nerves.

By the way, Nebby, dearest, you could adjust your clock to Central European Time, it's a bit confusing like this, and after all most of your readers are Bulgarians, Serbs and an occasional Serbulgarian :)

I've noticed that long ago, but I did nothing to change it, because according to my flag counter, most visitors come from USA and Serbia /mainly you/, and Bulgaria of course. I don't know, may be this makes me feel like I live in the US and posting reviews during nights :D

Neb, I'm definitely a USA visitor.
And I knew there was a reason I skipped this movie. Not that I see many romantic comedies, either.

it's not mainly me, Neb, because the flag counter marks unique visitors in this open counter, so all these Serbians who are visiting your blog are not just me (although they are probably coming from my blog after seeing your stories in my blog roll).
It's nice seeing Alex, one of my dearest friends, here as well :))

Neb, you should really pay me for doing your PR work :PPP

Hm... feel free to remove my banner from your site and my blog from the column. I don't need, neither ask for popularity.
Flag counter doesn't mark unique visitors, I think, but... anyway....I don't care.
It seems your blog is the reason Blogger to exists :) Good for you!

now what is this, Neb? Why such words? I think you've totally misinterpreted my comment. I'm not sure what just happened here.

The PR line was an innocent joke, with no hidden meaning, no irony, just a pure innocent joke. Just as you can be my PR in Bulgaria, because all the readers who come to HOLLYWOOD SPY from Bulgaria, come after they've seen me at your blog.

As for the Flag counter, it counts both unique and overall visitors, but the unique ones are marked in this public widget that is shown down in our sidebars. The total count is usually shown just for you, the owner of the blog, when you click on the widget, where you see the rest of the statistics as well. So these 200 and more visitors from Serbia are all unique people. I've personally visited your blog probably at least a thousand times, because you know how much I love you, so I visit you every day more than once.

I'm so sorry, Dezz. I'm really not in a mood tonight and it seems I've lost mu sense of humor :(

You might be right about the unique visitors - there's a logic in what you're saying. Plus you are much more familiar with this gadget, since you had it first on your blog and I just 'stole' it from you.

You know how much I love you, too. And I think we're soulmates :) I visit H-Spy at least 10 times a day. I am not overstating it :)

@Alex
I didn't adjust my clock exactly for US visitors like you, dearest Alex :)

You took the right decision to skip this one. It was really disappointing.
